Due to the growth of GNT USA we are looking for a full-time Greenhouse/Laboratory Technician:

The Greenhouse/Laboratory technician is responsible for day-to-day plant care, ensuring that plants receive correct level of water, nutrients, light, etc.   Individual will maintain equipment, provide proper insect/disease management treatment, and collect data.  Position also includes laboratory work to measure color, moisture, weights, etc. and support the Agronomy and Quality Teams.

What do we expect of you?

The position is located in Dallas, NC. Duties for the Greenhouse/Laboratory Technician will include the following:

  • Provide daily care to greenhouse plants to include, planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, controlling insects and disease, ventilating, and manage plant nutrient levels
  • Maintain each greenhouse room at the appropriate temperature, humidity, and light level
  • Inspect plant material for disease and insect problems, light levels, temperature and humidity, nutrient requirements, and mechanical damage with proper training
  • Record data and maintain records; notify supervisor of irregularities
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain greenhouse, growth chambers, and laboratory work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Tracking and organizing seed, samples, and plants
  • Competently working in a laboratory to analyze vegetables for color, moisture, and weights.
  • Maintaining and cleaning lab equipment including daily calibrations.
  • Recording test results into computer system

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete all assigned safety training in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with all required training and ensure timely completion.
  • Follow the Company’s established processes, procedures, and policies, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and product quality guidelines.
  • Maintain a collaborative team mindset while actively supporting GNT’s Food Safety culture.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and support colleagues in adhering to hygiene standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 2-3 years of experience working in a greenhouse
  2. 1 year of experience working in a laboratory
  3. Ability to learn on the job training
  4. Good oral and written communication skills
  5. Organizational and time management skills
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Farming experience is beneficial
  8. Experience with equipment operation is desirable
  9. Willingness to travel locally
