Due to the growth of the GNT Group we are looking for a:
Product Specialist
The Product Specialist provides technical support to manufacturing, develops custom blends, and qualifies new products. Key responsibilities include identifying portfolio gaps, understanding business needs, and overseeing qualification procedures and product development. The role involves creating production orders, qualifying new ingredients and packaging, addressing quality issues, and conducting stability testing and recipe validation. Additionally, the Product Specialist supports the Production Manager as a backup.
The role:
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Planning to ensure accurate recipes and features, including alternate recipes.
- Research, test, and develop new product ideas that align with customer needs.
- Design test protocols, validate products and stability, and update databases with recommendations.
- Coordinate with Quality/Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Applications to ensure proper labeling, food safety, and technical attributes for new products.
- Fully knowledgeable in BC14 and Nav Master (Samples). Create and manage item cards, production protocols, and inspection plans for new items. Create production orders & plan to qualify all recipes on the production line.
- Troubleshoot technical issues when batches are out of specification and provide recommendations for quality improvements.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for external co-manufacturing.
- Gain deep knowledge of semi-finished materials‘ technical attributes and their impact on recipes. Act as the expert on ingredient blending, permissible levels, and avoidance factors.
- Work collaboratively with the other members of the Sales, Technical Development, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing as to start up new products.
- Qualify new suppliers, new ingredients, packages, farmers, co-manufacturers from a technical and quality perspective.
- Leverage food science and manufacturing expertise to ensure products meet GNT and industry standards.
About you, as our ideal candidate:
- 2-3 years of product development experience.
- 2-3 years of food manufacturing experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Engineering field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel.
