Automation Engineer
As an Automation Engineer you are part of the department Process Optimization and Implementation (POI). Key responsibilities of POI are the delivery of equipment, the optimization of processes in terms of capacity, yield, efficiency and quality consistency and the implementation of processes in production. The department is based in Mierlo (NL) and delivers services for GNT’s production locations in Heinsberg (DE), Mierlo and Dallas (USA).
What do we expect from you?
As Automation Engineer you will work flexibly at the affiliates in Mierlo and Heinsberg. In the position you cover a broad range of responsibilities:
- You participate in or coordinate CAPEX-projects from conceptual design to implementation, focusing on automation. This includes the planning, specification, design, integration and testing and start-up of electrical, instrumentation and automation hardware and software for process equipment.
- You support production in solving deviations in the automation.
- Together with colleagues from IT, Maintenance and POI you work on the development, improvement, management and maintenance of automation systems.
- You are up to date with the latest technical developments and innovations in the area of industrial process automation.
- You work together with IT, Maintenance, Production, and external engineering and automation partners, mostly in interdisciplinary teams.
What can you offer us?
- A bachelor or master in Industrial Automation Engineering or Mechatronics.
- 3+ years of working experience in a relevant process industry field.
- Experience in instrumentation and process control systems and industrial automation with Siemens S7 and TIA portal.
- Experience with diagnostic and configuration tools of field equipment like drivers and transmitters.
- Experience in developing and reviewing of electrical wiring diagrams
- Experience with MES interfaces is a plus.
- Experience in working in technical project teams as key contributor or lead, collaborating to accomplish project goals.
- A demonstrated talent for project execution and handling multiple projects.
- Outstanding technical and analytical skills and attention to details.
- A proactive, energetic and result driven attitude and a strong sense of ownership.
- A reliable, communicative and service oriented way of working.
- Good command of Dutch or English. German is a plus.
